But between now and then, there was Life; and Bod walked into it with his eyes and his heart wide open. "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman ♦♦♦♦◊
Oops! Sorry for the weird post! The whole "test" thing wasn't really meant to go out to the whole world... but I seem to have been afflicted with Mad Clicker's Disease there for a moment. (And yes, I deleted the post)
Heh. Well, I wasn't really ready to write a blog post but I think I oughta throw you a little something for being exposed to my idiocy, so here goes:
I finally pulled this block from my design wall - it had been fused since June 2010, I think - and started inking. I gave a couple of "How I Do It" fusible applique classes at the shop and almost all of my samples had inking on them. Since I was 'splaining it anyway, I thought I'd get out my pens and finish up this block.
Mmmm... detail. The white was just blurring together so I grabbed some watercolor pencils and tinted the edges of the petals.
If you click-to-big, the larger version of the picture really shows where the inks were applied. I really enjoy this part of the process. A blah, all-run-together block really can WOW me.
Well, most of the time. This one? Meh.
This is a one-time block, a sample for the shop. I'd blogged a bit about it last May and it is part of a 12-month BOM project. But it's not for me. I can face 120+ pieces in a 13" block but the subject matter of this one isn't really buttering my toast. KnowwhatImean?

I rather like it! Really.
But I understand what you mean. Some things just don't float. :-)

I like it too but it's not me either but I can honestly say I have never heard "butter my toast!?" Cute, very cute....stay warm and have fun with your Valentine class. I like that too, it's cute but I'm a sucker for hearts!

I love the effect of the painting, but not something I could ever pull off. Thank you for the gratuitous post....LOL

It really is a pretty block though.

I was blog surfing today and your wave knocked me down. I have truely enjoyed reading your posts, seeing your work and love looking at MoonPie. Keep up the good work. Angela from Oregon
