Cleaning Out My Photo Albums

March 30, 2010

She hoped they had a nice life.  "Survivor in Death" by J.D. Robb ♦♦♦♦◊

Well, here I thought I had a decently interesting 'fill-in' blog post subject to share with you between episodes of life-changing wisdom and awe-inducing handwork. I was going to go through my Photobucket albums and show you some pictures of things I haven't gotten around to writing about yet.

I seem to have been overconfident in this plan. I've already shown you the good stuff.

I actually have gotten back to the sewing machine after a 2+ month hiatus.** I've finished one item and am close to finished on another, both of which are for my Secret Quilting Sister. Of course, that means that I can't "share" with you all. I really am thinking that I ought to still post the pics of what I'm doing, just make it a clickable link... my SQS would actually be able to click over and see what I've done (therefore outing me as her SQS) or she could be strong and NOT peek. We'll see if I actually do that; it's a shame that I don't get to share with you, but I do love having a Big Ol' Secret, too.

Maybe if I'd accomplish something MORE than just Secret Sewing this wouldn't be an issue (thank you for letting me figure that out on my own & not smacking me upside the head).

I'm knitting on something. Of course, it's just 10cm of double moss stitch and stockinette right now so showing a picture would be ridiculous. :sigh:

Oh! I'm working on a sample for the shop! It's about halfway finished! I don't have pictures yet!

** Here's the reason for the hiatus:

WaldoI actually removed ONE thing before snapping this picture, a little something to go to my SQS. Did I honestly think that she might see the pic and say to herself, "Hey! I got that in my last months' package!"?

I actually got the nerve to show this picture to a few co-workers & customers at the shop. The near universal response was, "Now I don't feel so bad about my sewing area."

My sewing machine has been unofficially dubbed "Waldo".

Go figure.

Not WaldoNow I am at least able to sew a bit. The floor around the machine table is no less stacked/cluttered (though there is a path or two), but this is working for me for right now.

OK... you win!! Nothing like admitting to the mess to get motivated to clean it up.

PS - mines looked worse ;)

Yep it's a mess, go head and clean it up so you can make a new mess. So glad you have gotten back to sewing, even if we don't get to see anything....we'll use our imaginations :0)

Oh! Super Sewing Tip #14 !!

Taping the pack of needles to the machine is my way of remembering what size and type of needle is in the machine at the time!

Although I barely ever use my sewing machine, even if I wanted to right now I couldn't. Your picture seems like a mirror image of my sewing table!

I need to pay attention to the moral of this picture story and try cleaning my room - it really does work! LOL Good effort FB
