Hi everyone, thanks for visiting! It's Saturday midnight here at Casa de Babble, so the giveaway is closed. I'm going to get a good night's sleep, then get it together to draw a winner tomorrow - Stay tuned!

Let me get this started off with the important stuff I have to say (okay, I'll wait until you wipe up the coffee/soda/tea that you just snorted onto your keyboard)...

I really like blogging. I've been doing it for FOUR years now and it's really become part of my... what? mindset? lifestyle? (Wow, that sounds pretentious, doesn't it?) I dunno. I know that there are long gaps between posts sometimes and then I get all hyper and post a bunch all at once. It's not that I don't have stuff to share or anything to say (even though I tried to convince you of that very thing in my last post), it's usually because I don't take the time to write it up for you. I haven't yet found a quick* and easy way to say/show/link everything I want to share with you. (*f'r example: Writing this blog post took over 2½ hours. It's hard work to herd all the gerbils in my head.)

Through my blogging adventures, I've 'met' some really nice people. You are a funny (haha, not hmmm) and supportive group. There are the core readers, the feed-reader followers, the Blogger followers -

I appreciate each and every one of you, whether you just wander through or are an 'old friend'.

I know that oftentimes a blog is pretty self-indulgent and I don't expect that my occasional bouts of babbling are going to change anyone's life (though I notice I have a "These Posts Might Just Change Your Life" category over there in my sidebar... apparently sometimes I'm more humble than other times). Heh. Oops.

Where was I? Oh, of course -

So, yes. I had a Blogoversary. I knew it was gonna happen. I even mentioned it to you last week. Did I do anything? Nope.

Why didn't I, when I had a few 'plans'? Let's see... The Blogoversary was on Monday. The preceding Friday I managed to find/contract/develop some gnarly muscle spasms in my upper back, after just recovering from lower back issues earlier in the week. Joy, eh?

I managed to recover enough by Sunday to be a guest bellringer at a local church. Heh. "Guest" bellringer. That's foo-foo talk for "I subbed for a ringer who was out of town". It was nice to play with a different bell choir - it's always interesting to see how other directors & players 'do it'.

Monday brought a lunch date with a good friend and then some sample sewing for a class at the shop:

Ever since I first 'discovered' this combination of fabrics in the shop I've wanted to do something with it. So when we needed a sweet sample for the class I jumped on the opportunity to "play".

Monday was the actual Blogoversary. As I said, four years. Can you believe it? So here's what's up with the "Part ONE" in the title:

I've gathered a set of fat quarters of the fabrics in the sample quilt PLUS a gorgeous Shadowplay red FQ that goes wonderfully with the ensemble. This is prize ONE to celebrate my Blogoversary.

Yes, there will be a prize TWO. Probably tomorrow.

Leave a comment on this post before midnight Saturday, March 6 (California-time) for a chance to receive this FQ bundle. I'll do the random-number generator thing on Sunday to choose a name from the entries.

For a second entry, blog about the little giveaway Part One then come back and leave me a comment that you did so. A link to your blog post would be handy (but not required)... who knows? Maybe you'll get some new visitors!

I've run across a cooler-than-mine giveaway that I'd like to share with you - both because it's pretty cool and also because I get an extra entry for telling you about it.

First up is an incredible giveaway over at ctpubblog.com, the blog written by the folks at C&T Publishing. The super prize package is all things Jan Krentz - an innovative and just plain clever quilter/designer.

She's such a popular designer and the blog is one of the 'big guns' so I expect I have a snowball's chance of winning the goodies - but I'll still try. It would be way cool to be the winner!

I found your blog from Crispy's blog. I was tickled to find you are a bell-ringer, too. I am one in our church bell choir in southern Delaware! When I get comments on my blog, I click on the person's name and then their profile page comes up....and I scroll down to see THEIR blog (which will be listed there if they have one) and that is how I get to read their blogs. (You mentioned not knowing how to get to our blogs......so if you click on my name, look at my profile page, and scroll down to where it says "My Blogs" and click on my blog and THERE you will see me!!) Happy 4th year blogaversary. I've only had one of those but I did reach 500 posts after 15 months of blogging daily...and now I"ve cut back to just 3 or 4 posts a week.
